The Tata Curvv looks a lot like other recently updated Tata SUVs such as the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. Front – connected LED DRL, headlights are located on the bumper and a grille for ICE, EV model will have a blanked one. On the flanks, extending coupestyle roof line, it indicates the Curvv and teasers warn that there are flush-type door handles (for the first time in Tata). It will also get connected LED tail lamps with welcome-in and good-night flickering display at the rear.

Cabin & Expected Features

While Tata has not unveiled the layout of the Curvv formally, thoughts on what it might look like are likely to be inferred from the spy shot and teasers; interior bits are expected to be borrowed from the Tata Nexon and Tata Harrier.

It could have a four spoke steering wheel with Projector Tata logo. This will also mean that the Curvv will be sharing many of its equipments with other Tata cars such as a 12. A 25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, 9 JBL speakers, power-adjustable driver seat, multiple selectable color ambiance schemes, and a panoramic sunroof.

It might feature a range of safety systems as follows 6 airbags, 360-degree camera with BLIS (blind spot information system), front and rear park assist sensors ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including lane keep assist, autonomous braking and, adaptive cruise control.

Expected Powertrain

Tata will offer ICE version of the Curvv with the new 1.2-litre T-GDi turbo-petrol and famililar Nexon-sourced 1.5-litre diesel engine options. We have mentioned the detailed specifications in this table below:

Tata has not provided any information regarding the battery pack and the electric motor of the new Curvv EV. It is expected to be offered with two battery packs so the car could achieve the range of approximately 500 km. This will be based on Tata’s Acti which is a low end vehicle currently used in the Indian market. EVA platform that is also used in the Punch EV. It is expected to provide facilities like DC fast charging, V2L or vehicle to load, drive modes and energy regeneration settings.

Expected Price & Rivals

The Tata Curvv EV will probably be introduced initially from Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). On home ground, it will lock horns with the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Creta EV which is still under development in India. The Tata Curvv ICE is further planned to follow the Curvv EV and may cost at least Rs 10. The direct rivalry will be with vehicles like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
